The Bridge House is located directly
opposite the historic world heritage Elmina
Castle which was built in 1482 by the
Portuguese for trade, along the picturesque
fishing bay of the Benya Lagoon.
The Bridge House was the first merchant
house built by the Dutch. The initial
occupant of the house was Mr. Johanes
Gaillard Stoove and later followed by the
other prominent and prosperous families –
Vroom & Plange. The building was restored in
the year 2000.
The Bridge House is operated by Coconut
Grove Hotels, as a Bed & Breakfast facility.
It provides a unique opportunity for its
guests to experience Elmina while residing
in a historic building in comfort, and
observing the indigenous, everyday life of
the inhabitants of this ancient town.
The Bridge House offers comfortable
